St. jude tests 'Poop Transplant' to heal Kids' damaged guts after cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT05664113

Summary

This early-stage study is checking if a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) is safe and practical for children who develop severe gut problems after a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. The procedure transfers healthy gut bacteria from a screened donor to try to restore normal digestive function. Researchers will enroll about 10 young patients under 22 to see if the treatment is feasible and to look for early signs it might help.
