Summary
This study tests whether taking capsules containing healthy donor stool (fecal microbiota transplant) can clear carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) from the gut of hospitalized adults. CRE are hard-to-treat bacteria that can cause serious infections. The trial involves 80 patients in Hong Kong and uses a double-blind design to compare the capsules against a placebo.
