Glowing dye lights up hidden bone cancer cells during surgery

NCT ID NCT07315828

Summary

This study is testing a special fluorescent dye to see if it helps surgeons spot leftover tumor cells during surgery for a type of bone tumor. Patients receive an injection of the dye before their operation. During surgery, the surgeon uses a special camera to see if any glowing areas remain, which might indicate leftover tumor, and then checks if those areas are correct by sending them to the lab. The goal is to see if this tool makes surgery more precise and helps lower the chance of the tumor coming back.
