Simple IV fluids before surgery stop dangerous blood pressure drops
NCT ID NCT06231472
Summary
This study tested if giving patients a specific amount of IV fluids before surgery could prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure that sometimes happens right after anesthesia is given. It involved 110 women having pelvic surgery. One group received fluids based on their weight before surgery, while the other group followed the standard practice of no fluids before surgery.
