Study tests if less fluid is better for sickle cell pain

NCT ID NCT07188766

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to give fluids to adults with sickle cell disease during a severe pain crisis. Researchers are comparing a 'restrictive' approach (giving minimal fluids) to a 'liberal' approach (giving more fluids) to see which one relieves pain just as well while possibly causing fewer side effects. The main goal is to see if the restrictive method is not worse than the liberal method for reducing pain.
