ICU fluid crisis: can adding a protein boost a common Drug's power?
NCT ID NCT07417969
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a protein called albumin to a standard water pill (furosemide) helps critically ill patients in the ICU pee out more excess fluid than the water pill alone. It will involve 56 adult ICU patients who have too much fluid in their body. Researchers will carefully measure urine output and other health markers to see which treatment works better.
