Could a simple ultrasound scan prevent dangerous blood pressure drops during surgery?
NCT ID NCT03734497
Summary
This study aimed to see if using an ultrasound scan of the neck artery to guide fluid (IV) administration could better prevent low blood pressure caused by spinal anesthesia during knee surgery. It planned to compare this new method against standard fluid practices in adults having arthroscopic knee surgery. The trial was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled.
