First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether letting heart failure patients drink as much as they want (when thirsty) is as good as limiting their fluids during and after a hospital stay. About 420 adults hospitalized with acute decompensated heart failure will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see which approach helps patients get stable sooner and improves thirst and quality of life.
