Heated chemo showdown: could a tailored dose reduce side effects in advanced cancer surgery?

NCT ID NCT04779554

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a weight-based dose of heated chemotherapy during surgery is as effective but less toxic than a standard flat dose. About 100 people with advanced gastrointestinal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen will take part. The goal is to find a dosing method that limits the amount of chemo entering the bloodstream, potentially reducing side effects while still targeting cancer cells.
