First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests a procedure called radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to treat perianal fistulas—abnormal tunnels that form near the anus, causing pain and drainage. Researchers want to see if using heat to seal the fistula can safely close it and prevent it from coming back. About 80 adults will receive the treatment and be followed for 6 months to check healing, symptoms, and side effects.
