Fish skin graft tested to enhance healing in transgender surgery

NCT ID NCT07286123

Summary

This study is testing whether a special graft made from processed North Atlantic cod skin can improve healing after gender-affirming vaginoplasty surgery. Researchers will enroll 20 transgender women undergoing this specific surgical technique to see how well the graft helps the new vaginal tissue form and heal. The study will track healing, pain, sexual function, and quality of life over one year to see if the fish skin graft leads to better outcomes.
