First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This early study tested a new soft neural probe in 5 adults already scheduled for brain surgery to remove a tumor or epileptic tissue. The goal was to see if the probe could be safely inserted and record electrical signals from the brain. Participants had the probe placed into the tissue being removed, then followed up after 30 days. The study focused on feasibility and safety, not treatment.
