Blood test may spot cancer return months before scans

NCT ID NCT05904665

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a blood test that looks for tiny bits of tumor DNA can find colorectal cancer recurrence earlier than standard methods like CT scans and CEA blood tests. About 584 people who had surgery for stage I-III colorectal cancer will be randomly assigned to either the new DNA test or usual follow-up. The goal is to see if the DNA test helps doctors catch and treat recurrences sooner, potentially improving outcomes.
