Blood test may spot cancer return sooner after surgery

NCT ID NCT05904665

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a new blood test that looks for tumor DNA can detect the return of colorectal cancer earlier than standard methods. About 584 people who had surgery for early-stage colorectal cancer will be randomly assigned to either the new blood test monitoring or usual follow-up care. The goal is to see if earlier detection helps more patients receive treatment aimed at curing the recurrence.
