Summary

This study tested whether a gel containing a natural growth factor (FGF-2) can safely close long-standing holes in the eardrum. Fifty-seven adults with a dry eardrum hole for over 3 months received up to three treatments. The main goal was to see how many people's eardrums closed completely, and hearing changes were also measured.
