First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a one-time procedure done before birth to treat a rare brain blood vessel problem called vein of Galen malformation. The treatment blocks abnormal blood flow while the baby is still in the womb, at or after 34 weeks of pregnancy. About 20 fetuses will be treated, and their health will be followed for two years after birth. The goal is to see if this early intervention lowers the risk of death or serious brain damage compared to past cases.
