Watching Baby's bladder could reduce risky pregnancy tests

NCT ID NCT07165743

Summary

This study is testing whether watching a fetus's bladder empty quickly during an early ultrasound can help doctors be more confident that the baby does not have a major chromosome problem like Down syndrome. Researchers will observe 270 pregnant women for 40 minutes during their first-trimester scan to see if this 'rapid emptying' sign is reliable. If it works, it could help some women avoid more invasive and risky follow-up tests.
