Bladder speed test may spare pregnancies from needle probes
NCT ID NCT07165743
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a fast-emptying fetal bladder during an early ultrasound (11-14 weeks) can reliably rule out major chromosome issues like Down syndrome. About 270 pregnant women will be observed for 40 minutes to see if this simple sign could lower the number of invasive tests needed. If proven accurate, it could make first-trimester screening safer and less stressful.
