NCT ID NCT07456293

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether functional electrical stimulation (FES) can improve hand function in people who had a stroke 1–6 months ago. 40 adults aged 40–60 will receive either FES plus standard physiotherapy or physiotherapy alone. The main goal is to see if FES leads to stronger grip and better hand use.

functional electrical stimulation device

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a practical way to improve hand function and independence after a stroke.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The improvement may be modest or no better than standard therapy.
