Zap and pedal: can electric bike therapy boost stroke recovery?

NCT ID NCT06230796

Summary

This study is testing if adding mild electrical stimulation to leg muscles during stationary bike riding helps people recover better after a stroke. Researchers will compare regular cycling to cycling with the added stimulation in 30 stroke survivors with leg weakness. The main goal is to see if this combined approach improves heart and lung fitness more than cycling alone.
