Zap and pedal: small study tests electric arm workouts for spinal injury

NCT ID NCT07385456

Summary

This small, completed study tested whether a special arm bike that uses mild electrical pulses (Functional Electrical Stimulation) is a practical way to help people with recent spinal cord injuries. Six inpatients used the bike three times a week for six weeks to see if it could improve their arm strength and ability to do daily tasks. The main goal was to check if this approach is safe, doable, and worth testing in a larger group.
