First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from ferulic acid (an antioxidant found in plants) can improve the results of standard deep cleaning for gum disease (periodontitis). About 80 adults with moderate gum disease will receive either the gel plus cleaning or cleaning alone. The goal is to see if the gel helps reduce gum pocket depth and improve gum attachment better than cleaning alone.
