New drug trial aims to fight deadly fentanyl overdoses

NCT ID NCT07459166

Summary

This study is testing whether a new drug called CS-1103 is safe and effective at helping the body clear fentanyl after an overdose. Researchers will give healthy volunteers a controlled dose of fentanyl along with the standard overdose-reversal drug naloxone, then test CS-1103 to see if it helps remove fentanyl faster. The goal is to develop an additional treatment that could work alongside naloxone during overdose emergencies.
