First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether fenofibrate, a drug typically used to lower blood fats, can prevent kidney function loss in people with type 1 diabetes who are at high risk of kidney failure. Forty participants will receive either fenofibrate or a placebo for 18 months, and their kidney function will be measured. The goal is to gather information for a larger trial and see if this drug can protect the kidneys.
