New hope for liver disease patients who Don't respond to standard treatment

Summary
This study is testing whether adding a medication called fenofibrate to standard treatment helps people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a chronic liver disease, when the standard treatment alone isn't working well enough. Researchers will enroll 150 adults whose liver tests show an inadequate response after one month of standard therapy. Participants will take either fenofibrate or a placebo pill daily for four years, alongside their regular medication, to see if the combination better controls the disease and improves quality of life.
