Heart surgery study tests if a different artery for monitoring cuts drug use and complications

Summary
This study aims to find out if monitoring blood pressure from the femoral artery (in the groin) is better than the standard radial artery (in the wrist) for patients having planned heart surgery. Researchers believe the femoral artery gives a more accurate reading, which could help doctors avoid giving patients too many blood pressure-raising drugs (vasopressors) and reduce related kidney and heart problems. The trial will randomly assign 340 patients to have their pressure monitored from one of the two artery sites to compare outcomes.
