New female condom put to the test: can it prevent pregnancy and STDs?

NCT ID NCT01223313

Summary

This study tested an experimental female condom that was not yet FDA-approved. It aimed to see how well it prevented pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, how safe it was, and how much women liked using it. About 500 healthy women across the US used it as their main birth control method for up to 6 months and kept daily diaries about their experience.
