Doctors search for early warning signs to help feed ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07178626

Summary

This study aims to find early signs that might predict when a critically ill patient will have trouble tolerating liquid food given through a tube. Researchers will check blood markers and use an ultrasound to look at stomach movement in 160 ICU patients who cannot eat by mouth. The goal is to learn how to spot feeding problems sooner to help patients get better nutrition during recovery.
