Gut bacteria transplant tested as lifesaver for deadly sepsis lung damage

NCT ID NCT07342205

Summary

This study is testing whether transplanting healthy gut bacteria from a donor can help patients with severe lung injury caused by sepsis. Sepsis-related lung injury has a very high death rate, and current treatments are limited. Researchers aim to see if restoring balance to the gut can improve lung function, reduce inflammation, and help patients survive.
