New scan spots tiny pancreas defects in babies, guiding Life-Saving surgery
NCT ID NCT04205604
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a special PET scan (FDOPA PET) to tell apart two types of a rare condition where babies have dangerously low blood sugar due to too much insulin. The scan helps doctors find exactly where the problem is in the pancreas so they can remove it with surgery. About 50 infants and children with this condition will take part to see how well the scan works.
