Scientists test how special fats affect rare metabolic disorder

NCT ID NCT06623032

Summary

This study aims to understand how different types of dietary fats affect the body's metabolism in people with Medium-Chain Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MCADD), a rare inherited metabolic disorder. Researchers will compare 15 MCADD patients with 15 healthy individuals, having each participant consume two different fat supplements on separate test days. The goal is to measure how these fats influence energy production, blood markers, and blood vessel function to better understand the condition.
