Fasting diet tested to calm gum disease Flare-Ups after treatment
NCT ID NCT06074861
Summary
This study tested whether a special 5-day plant-based diet, designed to mimic the effects of fasting, could reduce harmful inflammation in the body and gums after deep cleaning treatment for advanced gum disease. Researchers compared 28 patients who either followed this diet for three cycles or continued their normal eating habits. The goal was to see if this dietary approach could help control the disease better and improve overall health outcomes.
