Ditch the sling? study tests faster shoulder recovery after surgery

NCT ID NCT03913611

Summary

This study is testing if a faster recovery program works as well as the standard one after rotator cuff surgery. It involves 50 adults over 40 who have had this specific shoulder repair. After surgery, patients are randomly assigned to either follow the standard program (wearing a sling for 6 weeks) or an accelerated program (no sling required). The main goal is to see which group has better shoulder function and less pain after 6 months.
