One-Hour test could slash unnecessary antibiotics for hospital pneumonia
NCT ID NCT04153682
Summary
This study tested if using a rapid, one-hour diagnostic test for pneumonia, combined with expert advice, improves care for patients who develop pneumonia in the hospital. The goal was to help doctors choose the right antibiotic faster, potentially reducing the use of strong, broad-spectrum antibiotics. Researchers compared this new strategy to the standard approach in 116 adult patients.
