Doctors test 'Instant' lab check during lung procedure to spot cancer faster
NCT ID NCT07286045
Summary
This study looked at two ways to quickly figure out if fluid around the lungs (pleural effusion) is caused by cancer or a non-cancerous condition during a medical procedure called thoracoscopy. Researchers compared a doctor's visual inspection of the lung lining with a rapid on-site lab test of tissue samples. The goal was to see which method gives more reliable, real-time information to guide patient care.
