Faster test could cut patient isolation times for superbug

NCT ID NCT07397416

Summary

This study aims to see if using a faster PCR test can speed up decisions about when to isolate or clear patients carrying a dangerous, drug-resistant bacteria (CPE) in the hospital. It will compare the new fast test to the older, slower culture method by looking back at the medical records of about 800 adult patients. The goal is to reduce unnecessary isolation days and help hospitals use their resources more efficiently.
