15-Minute iron boost tested for anemic patients
NCT ID NCT01374919
Summary
This study tested a faster way to give an iron infusion to people with iron deficiency anemia. Doctors gave a full treatment dose (1020mg) in just 15 minutes to 60 patients who couldn't use iron pills. The main goals were to see if this fast method was safe and if it successfully raised patients' hemoglobin levels four and eight weeks later.
