Scientists hunt for blood test to spot Alcohol-Related birth disorders

NCT ID NCT06471335

Summary

This study aimed to better understand Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and find biological markers for diagnosis. Researchers in Reunion Island examined detailed health records of 182 children with FASD and compared cheek swabs and blood samples from 18 children with FASD to 18 healthy children. The goal was to identify unique patterns in the blood that could lead to earlier and more accurate diagnosis of the condition.
