Fewer eye injections for wet AMD? new study tests quarterly faricimab schedule

NCT ID NCT06742307

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether faricimab injections given every 12 to 16 weeks can keep wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) stable after an initial series of 2-4 loading doses. About 40 adults over 50 with active wet AMD will receive the quarterly schedule for one year. The goal is to see if this less frequent dosing can maintain vision and control disease activity without needing more shots.
