Eye injection trial aims to halt Diabetes-Related vision damage

NCT ID NCT05681884

Summary

This study tested whether regular injections of a medication called faricimab into the eye could slow or stop damage to the retina caused by diabetic retinopathy. 179 adults with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy received either regular injections or were observed, with some receiving injections later if their condition worsened. The main goal was to see if the injections reduced areas of poor blood flow in the retina over 48 weeks.
