Mind over matter: imagined walk may predict real falls
NCT ID NCT04039841
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether the difference between how long it takes someone to imagine walking a short course and actually doing it can predict future falls. Researchers enrolled 67 osteoporosis patients aged 50-85. They measured the time gap between the real and imagined walk and then tracked falls over the next year to see if a bigger gap meant higher fall risk.
