Tribal community fights high fall rates with culturally tailored exercise
NCT ID NCT04876729
Summary
This study tested a program to help prevent falls among older adults in the Zuni Pueblo community, where fall rates are high. It trained local Community Health Representatives to deliver a special exercise program aimed at improving strength and balance. The goal was to see if this community-led approach was more effective than standard educational materials at reducing fall risk and helping elders stay active and independent in their homes.
