ER falls in seniors: study tracks hidden Daily-Life decline

NCT ID NCT07163715

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study follows 280 older adults (65+) who visited the emergency room after a simple fall and were sent home. Researchers want to see how often their ability to do daily tasks like bathing or dressing gets worse after the fall. Participants answer health and activity questions at the ER, then by phone or online at 7 and 30 days later. The goal is to find out which factors—like frailty or fear of falling—raise the risk of decline, so better follow-up care can be designed.
