Heart valve showdown: which replacement method works best?
NCT ID NCT07462624
Summary
This study compares two approaches for replacing failed aortic heart valves in 890 patients. Researchers want to know whether traditional open-heart surgery or a less invasive catheter-based procedure leads to better long-term results. The trial will track patients for five years to see which method results in fewer deaths, strokes, heart attacks, and hospital readmissions.
