First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether an advanced MRI technique (DTT) can accurately show the facial nerve's position before surgery for a benign brain tumor called vestibular schwannoma. 38 adult patients received an extra 10-minute MRI scan before their operation. The goal is to help surgeons avoid accidentally injuring the facial nerve, which can cause permanent facial weakness.
