Can a simple warning stop you from believing fake health news on facebook?

NCT ID NCT05030883

Summary

This study aimed to understand if telling people who posted a news story (reliable source, unreliable source, or no source) and showing a protective warning message helps them think more critically about what they see on Facebook, especially for health news. Researchers tested this with 307 adult Dutch Facebook users. They showed participants different news posts with various source labels and warnings to see how it changed their perception of the news.
