New eye drop aims to soothe painful scratches in rare skin disorder

NCT ID NCT07016750

Summary

This study is testing whether an investigational eye drop called KB803 can safely reduce the frequency and pain of corneal abrasions (scratches on the eye's surface) in people with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB), a rare genetic skin condition. Participants, including children and adults, will use either the KB803 drops or a placebo (inactive) drops at home for periods of 12 weeks each. The main goals are to see if the treatment causes fewer side effects and leads to fewer days with eye abrasion symptoms each month.
