Can a Vitamin-Like pill save sight after a serious eye detachment?

NCT ID NCT06587945

Summary

This study is testing if a daily oral supplement called nicotinamide riboside (NR) can help protect vision in people who have a serious type of retinal detachment. After diagnosis, 144 participants will take either the supplement or a placebo pill daily for 20 weeks, alongside standard surgery. The goal is to see if the supplement helps keep the delicate light-sensing cells in the eye alive and improves vision recovery after the operation.
