Eye stroke warning: major study links vision loss to future heart attacks and strokes

NCT ID NCT07482228

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term risks of heart attacks and strokes in people who have had a sudden 'eye stroke' (retinal artery occlusion). Researchers will track 15,000 patients in Korea using national health records to see how often these serious events happen. They also want to find out if common medications like blood thinners or cholesterol drugs can help protect these patients in the years after their vision loss.
