Doctors use eye scan to spot brain fog risk after complex heart ops

NCT ID NCT07452367

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple, non-invasive eye ultrasound can help predict thinking and memory problems after a major heart surgery called Bentall procedure. Researchers will observe 100 patients, measuring the width of the optic nerve behind the eye at different times during and after surgery. They will compare these measurements to standard memory and thinking tests to see if changes in the eye scan can warn of potential brain function issues.
