Could a simple eye scan spot a dangerous brain condition?

NCT ID NCT05709314

Summary

This study is testing a new dye called AMDX-2011P to see if it can safely help doctors spot signs of cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) in the back of the eye. Researchers will give a single dose of the dye to 25 participants with CAA and then take pictures of their retinas. The main goals are to check the dye's safety and see if it makes harmful protein deposits in the eye easier to see, which could lead to a simpler way to monitor the disease.
